Teachers Orientation

The Principal welcomed the staff warmly and said that school is a temple  where the tiny tots are helped to grow until they become educated and fully grown adults to move into the world to face the challenges of life.

It was followed by a session by Rev. Father Joy  Ureth CMI. He inspired the teachers saying that we are the light of the world. The Teachers are to remove the darkness of ignorance from the children whom God has entrusted them it.

DR. Thanuja Ramachandran( member of Campion Faculty) inspired the teachers by dealing on multiple roles of a teacher . Mr. Mukunda Kumar taught the teachers how to be stress free through yoga exercises.

 

Excellent CBSE Class XII Results

Out of 108 students, 100% pass  with 68 distinctions and 34 First classes.

School  Topper Merrin Muhammed Ashraf of Commerce Stream secured 96.8%   and 100%  marks in Business Studies.

Faraz Nazeer of Science Stream secured 93.2%

KIND ATTENTION OF ALL PARENTS

It has been reported to us that certain individuals are making untrue and unnecessary complaints and postings against school in the name and style ‘Campion School Parents Association”.

It is to be noted that no such association was formed by the school or by the consent of the school authority.

Instead of parent-teacher association, Campion School has a Campion Welfare Committee, constituted since 2004, where selected parents from all classes, teachers and students can present their views.

The school authority is not responsible for and not liable for any act done by Campion School Parents Association.

If any one has any complaint about the functioning of the school, its infrastructure, hygiene conditions etc can directly approach to the Principal or the concerned authorities.

On the celebration of GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovation and Training) 16.12.2015 to 22.12.2015.

 In order to commemorate the 128th birth anniversary of Dr. Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan on 22nd December, 2015, we, the Campion School, Edappally, Kochi conducted several activities in school.

They are as follows:-

1)      On the 16th December 2015, Maths relay race was conducted for grade I to V and VI to VIII.

2)      On the 17 December 2015 the students of grade VI to VIII were asked to solve mathematical puzzles(Magic Square)

3)      An Interactive section on Maths was conducted for grade IX to XII based on 

a)      Mathematics in Nature  

b)      Pascal’s Triangle           

       4)    On the 19 December 2015, Quiz Competition was held for grade 1 to V, VI to VIII and IX to XII.

       5)    On the 21 December 2015 ‘Sudoku’ was conducted for the students of grade VI to VIII and IX to XII.

       6)    Innovative Projects on Maths based on

b)      Cryptography and Network security

For grade X was initiated on 22 December 2015 several photographs were taken related to this programme.

STUDENTS PICNIC 2015-16

Students picnic was organized to different places like Kodaikannal, Wonder la, Vagamon, Subash Park/ Children’s Park and Changampuzha Park.

ORIENTATION CLASS ON FIRST AID AND SAFETY- 2015

On 13th November 2015 an orientation class on first aid and safety was organized in association with Campion Interact Club and Wellness Solutions for the students of Std. IX and XI. 

VISIT OF CAMPION INTERACTERS TO ‘HOME OF FAITH’A CENTRE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN

7th November 2015

A week long programme has been organized by the Interact Club of Campion School as a part of children’s day celebrations. It aims to develop social awareness and to inculcate social values in students.

The students spent their time with the children of the ‘Home of Faith’ , Kakkanad a centre for needy children. They organized a grant musical treat and created some memorable movements. The interaction left an imprint of harmonious living, understanding and co-existing in the minds of the interactors and strengthened the bond by sharing sweets. Sr. Manasi, Mother Superior of ‘Home of Faith’ appreciated the kind gesture of our interactors. Food grains and clothes were collected and distributed. Various competitions will be held to spread further awareness among children.

 

AMAZO- INTER KINDERGARTEN CULTURAL FEST - 2015

Campion School hosted the Inter-Kindergarten Cultural Fest with 15 schools from the city participating with great zeal. The little ones performed with confidence and won prizes. The fest was inaugurated by Miss Charutha Baiju, Cine Artist. Miss Ann Eden, the chief guest of the closing ceremony distributed the prizes to the winners.

HEALTH CHECK UP CLASS I – X

On 15th, 16th, 26th October 2015 Campion School held the health check up by the Wellness Solutions Team of 22 doctors including ENT, Eye Specialist, General Health, Pediatricians, Dental Specialists and so on.

INDUCTION OF JUNIOR SCHOOL LEADERS

On 15th of October 2015, the Principal inducted the junior school leaders for various positions from the primary section. This helped the students to enhance their leadership quality and boost their confidence.

 

INTERACT CLUB PLANTING OF SAPLINGS - 2015

Campion school, on the 15th of October , as a part of celebrating the birthday of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the members of the interact club planted saplings in the school compound. Director Dr K.V. Thomas and Principal took the lead.

 

BIBOX SCIENCE INNOVATION LAB -15th October 2015

The programme of Bibox Science Innovation Lab was introduced to the students of classes VI and VIII with a view to inculcate the interest in Science. A team of engineers join our students every Thursday to guide them.

 

GANDHI JAYANTHI CELEBRATION – INTERACT CLUB 2015

The club members took initiative in the cleaning the school campus and surrounding with utmost dedication and interest.

VANDANAM- CELEBRATIONS WITH GRANDPARENTS

15th September 2015

Honoring the grandparents along with their grandchildren was the most memorable celebration for us. Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Naluparayil, the magazine editor of Smart Family Publications inaugurated the celebration. He highlighted the art of grand parenting. Entertaining programmes were also organized.

CAMPION INTERACT CLUB INSTALLATION CEREMONY

14th September 2015

Rotary District Governor Elect Dr Prakash Chandran was the Chief Guest and spoke on the importance of living harmoniously in this world. On this very event the food grains contributed by our students were handed over to the adopted orphanage by our school ‘Caparnam’ by our Chief Guest.

This community service project of Campion school ‘Kainaraye Nanma’ helps our students to develop their sense of responsibility towards the society. Kumari Akhila Prasad was elected as the President and Kumari Mary Magdelene as the Secretary of the club. The Director Dr K.V. Thomas and Principal and Rotarian Ashok Kumar, the President of Rotary Club of Cochin Lords graced the occasion.

 

ONAM CELEBRATION 2015

Our students from various classes decorated the flower carpet, bulletin board and bought a festive ambiance here with their delightful performances. Mr Vinod Nedumuddy – Deccan Chronicle, adorned the Chief Guests’ position for the day. Cultural programmes were the highlight. Director Dr K.V.Thomas and the Principal graced the occasion.

 

INVENTIVO 2015-16 CAMPION INTERSCHOOL COMPETITION

On the 8th of August 2015 Campion’s hosted an inter-school competition wherein 16 schools from one city with 400 participants reached its zenith with the theme, ‘Think Green, Love Green and Live Green’.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Shabareesh Varma, actor, lyricist and artful singer. Director, Dr K.V.Thomas and Principal, with their presence graced the occasion.

The overall championship was bagged by Kasthurba English Medium School and Runner’s up by Rajagiri Christu Jayanthi Public School. The prizes to the winners were distributed by Shri Neeraj Madhav, the eminent actor, dancer and choreographer.

 

INTER-CLASS DRAMA COMPETITION

The inter-class drama competition OF Classes V, VI, VII & VIII paved a way to the participants to revive the classic plays on stage by bringing their latent talents to lime light.  This also develops their various skills such as acting, sense of costume, organizing, event management and so on in the month of July.

‘MADURAM MALAYALAM’ INAUGURATION

On 1st of July an initiative of the leading daily ‘Mathrubhumi’ ‘Madhuram Malayalam’ a project for the students was inaugurated at the school.

INDUCTION CEREMONY 2015-16

Campion School holds its Induction Ceremony with great pride and honor electing their leaders for the academic year. This is indeed a challenge for them to groom themselves to be the best leaders. Dr K.V. Thomas, Director inducted the leaders and delivered a motivating speech highlighting the students to accept changes in life for the better to become great leaders. The Principal felicitated the programme.

 

CAMPION LITERARY AND CULTURAL CONVENTION 2015-16

On the 31st of July off stage events were conducted for all the categories at various venues. Students showcased their excellence in these skills and achieved laurels to  themselves. Thereafter on the 1st of August 2015 we held the formal inaugural ceremony of Campion Literary and Cultural Convention 2015 at the school auditorium. The Chief Guest of the day Shri Padmaraj Ratheesh, cine artist inaugurated the ceremony auspiciously. The Guest of Honor for the same event was Miss Sreelakshmi Sreekumar, cine artist who indeed captivated the audience by her speech. Dr K.V. Thomas, Director of Campion school and Principal graced the occasion.

Our students exhibited their exemplary talents on stage which mesmerized the audience. The closing ceremony of the Convention was honored by Bijibal ( Music Director).

CAMPION SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION 2014-15

Amazo Prince and princess

Campion School, Edappally hosted Amazo -14, Campion Kindergarden Inter School Kids Fest at Campion School on 8th February 2014., with great pomp and show. Various schools in and around the city participated in the wonderful cultural events. The budding tiny tots participated in dance, action song, story telling, fancy dress, memory test etc. Cine Actress and television anchor Ms.Krishna Prabha graced the occasion by distributing the prizes to the winners. Dr. KV Thomas , Director of Campion Educational Society and Principal of Campion School were also present to make this event a  most memorable one.

Master Joshva J Thayil of Rajagiri Kindergarden and Master Hisham Muhammed of Christva Mahilalayam were the AMAZO PRINCE of Senior KG and Junior KG. Kumari Anwitha S Prabhu of Saraswathi Vidhyanikethan and Kumari Evangeline Vandric of Rajagiri Kindergarden were the AMAZO  PRINCESS of Senior KG and Junior KG respectively. Rajagiri Knidergarden won the overall Championship and Sarawwathi Vidhyanikethan won the runners up trophy.

 

Campion Athletic Meet (2014)

 

Campion School celebrated the  25th Campion Athletic Meet on 24th January, 2014 in the school grounds in great splendor.

 Dr.K.V.Thomas, Director of Campion School was the chief guest of the day  Principal of Campion School and Mr.Mathew Chemparathy administrator also graced the occassion.

The eye-catching inaugural ceremony commenced at 9.00 am with a colourful and Vibrant March Past followed by prayer song and Flag Hoisting Ceremony.  The Chief guest Dr.K.V.Thomas, Director of Campion school declared the athletic meet open and addressed the gathering.  In his special address, he emphasized the need of participating in games along with the studies.  He said that it is a training to prepare for life. By taking part in the events, one becomes an athlete.  He wished the participants of various events a grand success.

 

Highly colourful Mass P.T, band display, flower display, dancing feathers and balloon display, field demo, yoga, pyramid, aerobics etc were the highlights of the function. Students took part in various athletic events like races, relay, long jump, high jump, short put, skating and sports events like football, basketball, cricket etc. 

 

 

 

 

The valedictory function took place at 1.30 pm after the completion of all track events.  Mr.Jayesh George, Joint Secretary of Kerala Cricket Association, was the Chief Guest.  He distributed prizes to the winners and congratulated them and declared the meet closed.  The students celebrated their victory with pride and jubilation.

Winners of State Yoga Championship 2013-14 held on 5th January 2014 at Kaloor Renewal Centre, organized by Ernakulum District Yoga Sports Association and Kerala Yoga Association.

Ernakulum district won overall championship with 89 points. The winners are selected for National Yoga Championship which is to be held on 29th, 30th, and 31st of January 2014,  West Bengal, Hoogly District.

 

 

 

Campion School Silver Jubilee Year Inaugural Function

 

The Silver Jubilee Year Inauguration of Campion School was held on the 11th of January, 2014 on the school campus at Edappally, Kochi. The grand function was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister Shri. K. Babu ( Minister of Fisheries, Port & Excise – Govt. of Kerala) and was attended by many other distinguished guests. Dr. K. V. Thomas, in his Keynote address spoke with passion and pride about the school and its silver jubilee year programmes. After conducting the formal inauguration of the function, Hon’ble Minister Shri. K. Babu spoke about the importance of quality education and the valuable contribution of Campion School in the educational sphere of Kochi. He said that this well-planned Institution was a beautiful materialization of emulating, progressive educational goals and values of the socially conscious, highly benevolent and inspired couple, Dr. K. V. Thomas. He also added that this educational entrepreneurship of 25 years yielded dividends to the society not just in terms of quantity but in terms of quality of the highest order.  

 

 

Principal, Campion School gave a fervent and fascinating account of the 25 years of this school’s existence and growth. She recounted the humble beginning of the institution, the challenges it overcame enroute, the ideas and ideals it materialized in its journey and the achievements it garnered over the years. The Principal noted with pride that this school began on the 6th of June, 1989 with just 9 students had grown to a full fledged school of 2500 students. She expressed her gratitude to all those who were partners in their progress. A visual treat titled ‘Down Memory Lane’ was screened at the venue. The slide show offered memorable glimpses of the past 25 years of the school.  

 

Shri. K. Padmakumar, IPS, Additional General of Police, conducted the launching of Jubilee Year and also released the Jubilee Logo. Releasing of Jubilee Brag was formally carried out by Prof.Dr. A. Ramachandran, Director, School of Industrial Fisheries (Former Registrar, CUSAT).

The celebrity face of the evening, Cine Actress and Model, Mrs. Rima Kallingal, offered felicitations and distributed trophies to the Best Campions, School Toppers of AISSCE examination 2013 and special achievers.

CULTURE IN A BOX (Project by Std V and VI)

As part of British Council project, a workshop named “Culture in a box” was conducted for the students of Std V and VI on 9th December, 2013.

Mrs.Mili Santhosh, Head of the Department of Science, Chung Hua, Middle School, Brunei was the resource person. She spoke to the students about different aspects of Brunei culture covering topics like food, dress, ornaments, Sultanate of Brunei, the Sultan, Royal palace and other information about their culture with the help of video clippings. She also exhibited samples of money, national animal, national flower, water village, dress, woven clothes, winnowing basket etc.etc. The students were curious to know more about Brunei and enjoyed interacting with Mrs. Mili.

My favourite Fruits and Vegetables British council project for the students of Std I

 

An elocution competition was conducted for the students of std I as part of the British Council Project on 3rd Dec. 2013.  The topic was ‘My favourite fruits and vegetables’.  Miss Teresa from Germany witnessed the event and shared her views with the students.  She expressed her appreciation to the Principal, for giving various chances for the development of the younger generation.

Nature Study Trip to Mangalvanam Bird Sanctuary

Students of Std VII visited Mangalvanam Bird Sanctuary located adjacent to Kerala High Court, Ernakulam, on 14th December,2013.Mr.Aneesh, the forest range officer briefed on the biodiversity sustained in the forest. Mangalvanam consists of a shallow tidal pond guarded by dense growth of mangrove vegetation along the periphery and is connected with Cochin backwater by a feeder canal. The mangrove serves as a shelter for birds both residents and migratory. The students climbed on the bird watching tower to watch the distant view of Mangalvanam through binoculars. The students could get a clear vision on 5 different species of mangrove along with different species of bats hanging on trees. A patch of mangrove ecosystem with large number of trees act as “green lung of Kochi city”. It is a heaven for large number of wetland birds in the middle of the sprawling city. Studies conducted in last 10 years revealed a total of 6 species of mammals, 103 species of birds, 17 species of butterflies, 5 species of spiders and is a roosting site of thousands of bats. The Mangalvanam Bird Sanctuary houses around 25 plant species. This trip was very informative and the students experienced the beauty of nature.

CAMPION COMMUNITY SERVICE - ‘KAINIRAYE NANMA PROJECT’

A special assembly was conducted as part of ‘KAINIRAYE NANMA’,  project of Interact Club of  Campion School, Edappally.  The Club members had organized              ‘KAINIRAYE NANMA ‘  (a handful of goodness) project by collecting the daily needed commodities  like pulses, sugar, tea powder, oil, soap, tooth paste etc.  During the assembly, the collected food commodities were displayed on the stage.  The students were very generous and happy to share a part of what they had to the hungry and down-trodden of our neighbourhood. Kumari Lakshmi Mohan, the Campion Interact Club President, spoke about the effects of soaring prices, population explosion, need for better production of food materials etc.  As a result, only the wealthy minority is enjoying all facilities.  As an initiative of Interact Club, the members are trying to make the lives of a group of needy and poor a little better, in the true spirit of charity.  They thanked Director Sir, Principal, teachers and parents who have motivated and supported them to go beyond their text books.

The members of Interact Club visited, the “NGO CAPERNAM CHARITABLE TRUST”,  Pachalam, on 30th November, 2013.  It is founded and run by Sr Juliet Joseph.  It provides shelter for the destitute children, women and beggars.  It is also a centre for mentally and physically disabled.  Campion Interact members entertained them and distributed chocolates and the food materials to these unwanted human beings. The presesnce of interactors gave them hope, joy and happiness.

CAMPION COMMUNKITY SERVICE –‘ PIDIYARI PROJECT’

As part of Manorama ‘NALLAPADAM’, the members of Nallapadam Club of Campion School, organized ‘PIDIYARI’ Project.  During the month of November, students of Campion School, Edappally, collected the daily needed commodities specially rice, pulses etc, as they realized that service to the community is their duty.  The Principal thanked the students and their parents for their generosity in contributing to help the needy.

On 30th November, the NALLAPADAM CLUB members visited NGO ‘THERUVUVELICHAM’ situated at Kakkanad, which is a shelter for the vagrant.  This is a home for the homeless who are forced to live on the streets.  It is founded and run by Mr.Teruvoram Murugan, who had been awarded by the Social Welfare Department for his exemplary service towards the needy.  Campion school students will be spent some quality time with these down-trodden and poor and helpedthem to imbibe new energy and zest in their monotonous lives.  The students distributed sweets and food materials for the inmates of THERUVUVELICHAM, Kakkanad.  It was a joyful experience, when they saw the smile on the faces of these neglected group of the society.

AWARENESS AND SECURITY PROGRAMME ON CYBER CRIME

On 13th November, 2013,  Mr.Thalhad P M, Civil Police Officer from Cyber Crime Investigation Cell, Ernakulam Rural, Aluva visited the school and gave a very interactive talk on cyber crime.  He talked on how Mobile Phones, Internet etc affect the life of the people, the growing rate of Internet Crimes and also on how to make our password more secure.  This session was a beautiful combination of information, interaction and entertainment which brushed up the student’s knowledge on cyber crime.

INTERNATIONAL INTERNET DAY

‘Internet brains or drains? It is you who decide …………?’  To spread this message, we the Intract Club members organized a special assembly associated with International Internet Day on 12th November, 2013.

  The assembly was started speaking about the importance of this day by Kumari Lakshmi Mohan, President of Interact Club, followed by an introductory speech by Shilpa Pradeep of class XI.  The advantages and disadvantages of using internet was shared by Fahad and Roshan of Std XI.  The Interact Members of Class X,  portrayed the consequences of using social network and Internet in the form of a skit, ‘The Life of Anu, who became a victim of Internet addiction.

Cancer Awareness Programme

On 7th Nov 2013, being the World Cancer Day, Campion School Health and Wellness Club organized a special assembly on cancer awareness. It started with a special prayer for the cancer patients around the world.   Students put up a skit depicting the way friends drag others to smoking and alcoholism, how they get addicted and get affected by cancer and the after- effects of people suffering from cancer.  Students prepared posters and spoke about the menace of cancer and its dangers.  It was an eye-opener for the students as millions of people are suffering from it.  Early detection and treatment can cure the patients from this increasing menace.

KERALA PIRAVI DAY

1st Nov 2013,  Campion School celebrated ‘Kerala Piravi’ with a great fervour.  The Malayalam Department put forward an array of programmes to make the day a wonderful one.  ‘Kavyanjali’ an amalgam of great Malayalam poems, was recited by the students.      Vice Principal Mrs.Sonia Robin graced the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the Malayalam department,  Art & Music Department and the students.

 

FOOD FEST

Students of Std II, celebrated Food fest on 31/10/2013.  The importance of using vegetables in our diet was highlighted by making salad by the students.  Principal Campion School inaugurated the Fest by distributing sald to students.

 

MADHURAM MALAYALAM INUGURATION

10th October 2013, “Madhuram Malayalam” organized by Mathrubhumi was inaugurated in Campion School.  Mr.C.V.Pushpan Swami, Managing Trustee, Cochin Kshetra Kala Peedam, was the Chief Guest.  The key note address by Mr.Thattath Sivan, Ciruclation Executive, Mathrubhumi was thought provoking and inspirational.  The students were urged to read and learn as the world of today is undergoing a fast change. Reading only can guide us to such a world.  Principal gave the felicitation.  The Programme ended with National Anthem.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

On 10th October 2013, A special Assembly on World Mental Health Day was organized at Campion School by Health and Wellness Club.  The programme highlighted the importance of healthy environment in the lives of children.  A skit was put up in  which there showed the role of   parents and teachers in helping the children to overcome their problems.  The programme was well co-ordinated and conducted by the club.

HINDI DIVAS

9th October 2013, Campion School celebrated the HINDI DIVAS with great zeal and enthusiasm.   Principal graced the occasion.  Students of Classes X A and X B took the initiative to prepare a magazine.”BHANSURI” Which showed their creativity and dedication.  There was also a variety entertainment programme during the assembly with Hindi speeches, songs etc.

A REPORT-DEBATE CLUB

On the 26th of August 2013, Mr.Sriraj Ramesan B.A.L.L.B(Hons) presently a visiting Faculty of Career Launcher visited our DEBATE CLUB members  and held an awareness class on the importance of debate, how to  conduct it, how to construct strong arguments etc. This class was informative, instructive and effective. He was a Solicitor of England and Wales and a Law researcher of Supreme Court of India in 2010.He was also the Solicitor of Norton Rose LLP, London in 2011-2012.

On the basis of his class, he has suggested the teacher-in-charge to select eight students for the School Debate Competition, which is to be held on the 30th of August which shall be followed by the Inter-School Debate Competition.

COMMEMORATION OF MARTIN LUTHER KING

On 27th August 2013, a special Assembly was held in commemoration of Martin Luther King’s famous speech “I HAVE A DREAM”.His dream was about a world, where everyone is treated equally. The dream has come true through the American President Barack Obama who himself is a  black.Antony Glenn Gomez delivered the Introductory speech .Karthik Padmakumar declaimed the speech of that historical day.

INVENTIVO, THE INTER - SCHOOL CULTURAL FEST OF CAMPION SCHOOL HELD

 

Campion school, Edappally, hosted INVENTIVO, SEASON 5, on Saturday,     24th August, 2013, in a grand scale.  The eminent and most prolific politician Mr.Dominic Presentation, MLA of Cochin, was the Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony.  In his keynote address, he emphasized the need for the students to identify their talents within them and to develop them for a better future.  Director Mr.K.V.Thomas, Principal, Administrative Officer Mr.Mathew Chemparathy, Vice Principal Mrs.Sonia Robin and Co-ordinator Mrs.Mary Titus also graced the occasion.  The day saw the whole hearted participation of 14 leading schools from Cochin.  The show was a scintillating display of colour, music and creativity.

 

           The Closing Ceremony was held in the afternoon.  Mr.A.M.Madanagopalan Nair, Deputy General Manager and Zonal Manager of Corporation Bank, was the Chief Guest.  Miss.Pearly Maaney, writer and media person, was the Guest of Honour.  The winners were awarded during the ceremony. Choice School, Thripunitura, bagged the overall championship.   The crowd cheered the winners for their excellent performance.

Independence Day Celebrations

Campion School Edapally , celebrated the 67th Independence Day with great  fervour . Our Director Mr. K.V. Thomas, our Principal  and Administrator Mr. Mathew Chembarathy  graced the occasion .The tricolor national flag was hoisted by our Director , Mr. K.V.Thomas ,the  Chief Guest  He  reminded the significance of freedom we obtained  on 15th August ,1947 . Our school Leader Master Adithya Panicker , Kumari Athira and Kumari Irene Aniyan spoke on the importance of Independence Day . Kumari Cherine Aniyan and Devika Gopakumar highlighted the beauty of national freedom through their recitation

A week long cultural activities and competitions ( elocution, fancy dress, bulletin board, patriotic songs,etc.) were held in  order  to kindle the flame of patriotism . The colorful and memorable skit about the Glorious Struggle of India to Freedom revived patriotic fervour of the audience. Certificates and trophies were awarded to the winners.
